My Tradition

The Navajo culture and traditions are what make me what i am today. We have so many beliefs and stories to go with our beliefs. We all go and help each other even though we don't know one another. As long as we are there and don't have anything to do, we all start helping each other. Some think they are better and don't have to do anything but they realize that they ain't and will start helping. We have our ceremonies where the main person gets cured and everyone else gets blessed. Tradition is very powerful and I respect it to the end.
It is what I wish everyone one had so they can know who they are. Why the sun raises and moon comes out at night. Just the stories why life is here and how it got here. Believe in something other than corporations, media, and how you are suppose to live. What society has made up this way of living and if you don't live like that, you are a failure. I live two lives but know how to balance them out because of my teachings and beliefs.
Living in two different societies can be a little confusing but it is very rewarding because of all the knowledge i get from both. It will make you or break you but i think they both balance each other out for me. I invest in both because they are why i am how i am. Without both i would probably be lost and be all crazy like these celebraties.
Just from my life as society wants it to be and how my culture wants it, I can only go so far into both of them. When i go home it's all about hard work and respecting the people around me. Doing everything I'm told by my parents or alders. But here at school i can be as lazy as i want and no one will get mad at me or i can do whatever i want and still no one gets made or punishes me. So these are very different and in a way keep me homble.
