16 hours of observation

February 14, 09
6:00 am at my friend Nicole's house I was awaken by a phone ringing. It was a home phone so it has an annoying ringer. Nicole was very loud talking so i couldn't go back to sleep and thats how my day started. With a phone ringing and than my cel phone went off and i had 3 text messages and 2 voicemails and one miss call. I answered to all of them which took me about 4 minutes. Doesn't take that long with technology today. Than I turned on the TV and had the laptop on for music. Nicole's son was watching TV well we were cooking and listen to music from the laptop. On top of that we were texting on our cell phones and all Nicole's relatives were calling her on her home phone. We were using her stove to cook which is electic too. Than we had to go to my house so we started the car and I could hear music coming from her cousins house next door. When driving to my house Nicole was on her cell phone, i was texting on mine, her son had his game boy, and the radio was on. We stopped at the gas station and used our card to pay for the gas. Than finally we got to my house and as we came in, the TV was on all the kids had their I pod or game boys and everyone was texting or on the computer. We got your valintine gifts fron my mom and headed to Gallup, NM. It was the same going to Gallup, cell phones, radio, and game boy. On the way we stopped a the store where they have so many agits in their from the coffee machines to the soda mechines. Than there are the cash registers, which are all computerized now. We stopped at the bank before leaving, had to use the ATM. Than we got into Gallup and went to Walmart, where their is so much technology. They have the electric place with TVs, music player, game systems, cell phones, computer equipment, CDs/ movies, calling cards for home phones and prepaid cell phones, digital cameras, photo printing shop, and so much more. Thats just the eletronic place, the whole store has TVs on the ceiling so you can get deals and know whats new in the store, cash registers, security cameras, price checking devices, intercom system and anything else you can think of. Nicole's son got lost and because of their intercom system we found him. After Walmart we went to go eat at Sizzlers and they have TVs that you can watch well you eat. That was your trip to Gallup and as we headed home we stopped at the flea market and they have so many different electronics, bootlegged movies to light up pens. We went home and started to watch TV and movies.
That was my 16 hours of technology and i have to say that is was a lot. Never really thought that it was that intense and coninous. I never noticed how much technology was used and are needed to make our lives easier and better. It never hits you that, wow what if technology were to disappear that we would go crazy.
